ABSTRACT
Efficiency of noise silencer for gas jets with large flow rate is studied in the paper. The silencer is intended for noise decreasing when compressed gas is ejected into ambient space. The general principal of silencer operation consists in formation of many small jets instead of one main jet. It is possible to obtain significant noise decreasing using only gas-dynamic methods, without sound absorption materials. Acoustical efficiency of silencer is defined for different discharges and pressure differential of operating agent. Basic design and experimental verification of the silencer are presented.
