Investigation of characteristics of ultrasonic vibrations’ compound annular amplifiers by means of transfer matrix method

ABSTRACT
The article considers application of transfer matrix method for solution of modeling and design problems of ultrasonic vibrations' compound annular amplifiers. On the basis of numerical example it is shown that there are two kinds of eigen modes of amplifier’s vibrations: 1) eigen modes with variable sign of radial vibratory displacements amplitude; 2) eigen modes with constant sign of radial vibratory displacements amplitude. Amplification of vibrations amplitude is ensured only by eigen modes of the second kind. In comparison with method based on solution of differential equations transfer matrix method is more suitable for engineers, since it doesn’t require the knowledge in the field of differential equations theory.
